In August 2023, Tahnee from Northern Territory, brought home Red’s Destiny (aka Red), a stunning liver chestnut QH/ASH. After a 24hr journey to his new home, Red seemed unsettled. Tahnee suspected the stress of travel and the transition from his familiar herd might have caused ulcers.
It didn’t take long for the signs to appear. Red started biting at his rider’s feet, reacting badly to leg pressure, and lifting his leg as a warning when touched on his tummy. Following her vet’s advice, Tahnee treated him with oral omeprazole and gave him a break during the wet season. But when she brought him back into work during the dry season, things got worse. Red bucked on his first ride, which is something he’d never done before.
Physically, Red looked fine. His appetite was steady, only his coat was perhaps a little duller than it should have been. Tahnee knew something wasn’t right, when Red’s bodyworker noticed that her hands came away dry after working on Red, when normally they would have coat oil residue on them.
The thought of a 300km trip to Darwin for scoping felt overwhelming, especially knowing the procedure itself could worsen ulcers. But with no other options, she loaded Red and his emotional support pony, Biscuit, onto the float and made the journey. As suspected, Red had Grade 3 ulcers.
Red’s vet prescribed six weeks of omeprazole and recommended to use GastroAID Recovery afterwards. Tahnee was desperate for GastroAID Recovery to work and after 8 weeks, and a return trip to Darwin for another scope, they got the good news – Red was finally ulcer free!
After three months of healing, Red’s first ride back was a dream. He was calm, happy, and back to the horse Tahnee had fallen in love with. In addition, since being on GastroAID Recovery Red has been thriving. His coat gleams, his hooves are stronger and he’s living his best life.
Tahnee swears by GastroAID Recovery. She’s heard Dr Ben Sykes’ webinars and knows the ingredients in GastroAID Recovery are scientifically proven to work. In fact, she sees it every day when she wets down his feed – that alkaline slime which protects the stomach lining and GI tract.
“There is no hesitation in recommending GastroAID Recovery. I know it works; the scoping has proved it”.
Tahnee and Red have experienced the Kelato difference! Why don’t you?
