It is a great pleasure to welcome Romy Durney back to #TeamKELATO.
Romy was born into a horsey family with all four girls in Romy’s family all riding from a young age. She pursued a riding career with her warmblood “Kaiser”, competing in dressage and showjumping events throughout her school years.
Upon graduation in 2011 she began work at Eucallea Equine, a breaking-in and pre-training facility in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Here she rode track work and was involved in all aspects of training, handling, feeding and veterinary care.
Following her passion for the racing industry, she later began work at Werai Park Stud, a boutique thoroughbred breeding farm in the Southern Highlands. Here she was involved in all aspects of breeding, foaling down, weaning, handling, sale preparation, feeding and attending all the major horse sales on the calendar.
After two years on farm, Romy decided to pursue her passion for equine nutrition and began work with Kelato Animal Health part time as Southern Sydney Territory Manager. She soon progressed to full time NSW Territory Manger. Romy thoroughly enjoyed creating relationships with all her stores, sponsored riders, trainers, studs and attending events on weekends promoting Kelato products and talking all things nutrition to fellow horse lovers.
After almost three years on the road Romy decided it was time to find something closer to home to spend more time with family. She began work at the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter and thoroughly enjoyed her time there working with companion animals. Romy also married her long term partner Peter in 2016 and had her first baby named Jack in 2017.
Romy has decided to re-join team Kelato again as Sydney and Southern NSW Territory Manager.
She is very much looking forward to reconnecting with her horsey friends and talking all things nutrition!
